Something exciting is in the works!

What's this? Something neither DIY nor travel related?

As you've probably figured out by now (if you've been following my blog) is that I like to write. I mean, why else bother with a blog in the first place, right? And if you have been following my blog, you'll likely have noticed that I haven't posted a Story Time Sunday in a couple of weeks either.

Sorry about that.

But it's because I've been busy working on a story of my own. Yep! I am writing a novel.

November is the official month for getting authors started on a 50,000 word journey, with lots of fun prizes if you finish by the end of the month. I've considered participating for years now, but was always busy with school work. Now that I am no longer in school, and I've actually had time to consider the plot for the story I want to write, there's nothing holding me back.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be busy working away at my laptop, attempting to write over 1,500 words every day in order to complete the first draft. Realistically, I have to be writing closer to 2,000 words per day, as I missed out on a few days right at the start. Because of this, I'm going to be putting a hold on my regular DIY&Fly work, because this is something I've wanted to do basically my entire life.

Want to know more about what I'm writing? Here's the current synopsis and excerpt for Scripters, pulled straight from my NaNoWriMo dashboard!

I'm going to leave this post here, but make sure you keep checking back, as once I'm further along in the writing process, I'll be letting you know more about how I find inspiration, and what keeps me motivated to write! In the mean time, happy November, everyone!
