9 - Food to go

If you're a budget traveller like myself, you probably know where this is going. And if you don't... well, I'd suggest you hop on this bandwagon!
Everyone knows the best part of staying in a hotel that has a buffet breakfast is just that - the buffet breakfast. Imagine waking up each morning, just to head downstairs and have a whole assortment of food laid out and already prepared for you, and all you have to do is take what you want. It's amazing (and is exactly the reason I like travelling to all-inclusive resorts). Especially if there's a variety of things to choose from; like eggs, bacon, sausage, croissants and baguettes with butter and jam, and even fruit, how can you go wrong? Now, I'm not a huge breakfast person. I never have been, and I never will be, and I know this kind of contradicts what I just said about how wonderful buffets are. They are amazing - if you're allowed to take some of it with you. And this is where the "stealing food" bit comes in. Some places expect you to just eat your fill and head on your way, whereas others don't mind if you take something a little extra from the road. Because I don't eat much in the way of breakfast, I figure that since I'm paying for it anyways, I might as well take what I would normally eat and bring it with me, but some places don't like it. I'll admit it, I can't count the number of times I"ve brought my purse down to breakfast with me to assist in sneaking a bit of bread and butter out.
But honestly, when you're already paying for the service, I don't see how it hurts anyone - and it saves you a little money later on in the day as well. I probably bought lunch four times over the span of 30 days while in Europe by doing this! What are your thoughts? Have you ever done this, or know someone who travels this way? Let me know in the comments down below. Ciao, everyone!
