Have you ever really wanted to go somewhere or see something so badly, yet when you finally get the chance to do it, it doesn't quite live up to your expectations? Well, that was exactly how I felt about the great, ruined city of Pompeii.

Before you go and get all defensive and tell me it was one of the greatest tragedies and that I'm an awful person for saying it was a disappointment - hear me out. I loved Pompeii, I really did. And I would give anything to go back. I was so excited to finally, finally, make it across the sea to see the ruined city, yet when I did, we were barely inside for an hour. I waited my whole life to see Pompeii, and only got to tour it for an hour. And let me tell you, it was a very rushed hour even though it was supposed to be two. As excited as our tour guide was to show the city to us, she was very clearly in a hurry to get us through and even went as far as telling us that she had another tour after ours.

So yes, I was entirely disappointed with my time in Pompeii. That said, what I saw of the city was amazing, although I could have done without seeing the brothel. I especially could have done without the brothel taking up the majority of the tour. But there was something so surreal about seeing how the entire city and its people were preserved. I won't include any of those photos, because it truly is something that you should see for yourself.
Apologies for the short post, but that's just because I've been working on so many different things for you guys and this is all I had time for.
Until next time!
