Welcome to the first ever Story Time Sunday! In an attempt to kick my butt into gear and begin posting somewhat regularly, I've decided that each Sunday, I will share with you all a new story - sometimes it will be travel related, sometimes it won't be. For this first post, I thought I'd tell you about some of my favourite spots in Europe!

Paris was an absolutely beautiful city - one that I'd highly recommend for the food alone ;) But of course, nothing compares to seeing the Eiffel Tower in person, especially seeing it at dusk for the first time. In fact, I loved the sight so much that I went back a second night to see it sparkle. It was utterly breathtaking!
Just be aware of yourself and your surroundings, as there are quite a few gypsies that hang around the area trying to sell you different things (or even getting you to sign something). I found that the majority of them were harmless, but there certainly are more aggressive people around too.

For those of you who know me, you probably know that French is not my strong suit. I always struggled with it in school, and even now only know "bonjour". Ironically enough, France had some of my favourite stops - second only to Italy.
I suppose that France did have the unfair film student advantage, as it is home to Cannes, and my tour just so happened to be travelling to Nice (about 45 minutes away from Cannes by train) at the time of the 69th annual film festival. Maybe it's an odd thing for me to say, but I can actually say that I went to Cannes Film Festival straight out of school!

As I was most excited for Italy, and will be telling you all about my experiences in each city I visited in later posts, I figured that I'll only show a couple of my favourite spots (even though everywhere in Italy was my favourite).
Before we ever arrived at our hotel in Rome, we got to stop to take a tour of some of it's most famous sights - the Roman Forum and this masterpiece, the Colosseum. What made this stop even better was the fact that the pizzeria where we had dinner was right across the street. What a better way to end the day than with a belly full of pizza and the Colosseum by night!

Quick tip: If you want a photo from the other side of the gondola, ask someone to either A) take the picture for you or B) swap seats with you! I couldn't not go on a gondola ride when in Venice, so of course, a bunch of friends and myself all split a boat and took a cruise through the Venetian canals. As I wanted a photo of the view behind us, I had my (brand new) DSLR held out over the water. At that moment, on of my friends tried hopping to my side of the gondola to take her own photo... and we almost flipped!
I actually managed to get a video of the whole ordeal, and you can check it out here!
And that's it! These were some of my all time favourite stops in Europe, though if I'm being honest, everywhere held some appeal. Make sure you keep an eye out for more upcoming posts, and let me know in the comments below what your favourite trip destinations are!
